What this site collects, and why

This page describes what actually happens in the code, not what a template said should happen. It is short because the site does little.

What you give us on purpose

If you buy the crown: your pet's name, up to two photos, a bio, one link, your own name if you choose to give it, and the email address you used at checkout. All of it is shown publicly except the email, which is shown only to you on your claim page and to the site's moderator.

Photos are stripped. Every upload is decoded to pixels and written out fresh, which removes EXIF, GPS coordinates, the camera model, XMP and the provenance blocks image generators attach. The file is stored under a random name; your original filename never reaches the server.

What is recorded as you browse

Your IP address and browser string are hashed together into a short identifier so that one visitor can leave one reaction per pet. The hash cannot be reversed into your IP, but it is stable, which is the point.

Your IP address is stored in plain against payment attempts — successful, refused and failed — because that is the record of who tried to buy and when. It is also held in memory for five minutes to count how many people are looking at the throne right now, then forgotten.

Visits and outbound clicks are counted per reign as plain numbers. Nothing about who did the visiting is kept alongside them.

Payments

Card details are entered on Stripe's own pages and never reach this server. We keep the Stripe reference, the amount, the fee, the net, and the email you gave at checkout. Stripe is the payment processor and has its own policy.

Analytics

Google Analytics is off until you accept it. Nothing is requested from Google and no cookie of theirs exists before you press Accept on the banner. Refuse and nothing loads; the refusal is remembered so you are not asked again. You can change your mind from the link in the footer.

Refusing costs you nothing. Every part of the site works either way.

Storage in your browser

Only your analytics choice, kept in local storage. It never leaves your machine and no login is required anywhere on this site.

Who else sees any of it

Nothing is sold, and nothing is handed to advertisers.

How long it is kept

A reign is meant to be permanent — that is what the royal history is for, and it is part of what the payment buys. Payment records are kept for as long as tax rules require. Reactions and counters last as long as the reign does.

Asking for a copy, or for deletion

Write to support@mypetisking.com with your owner number. You can ask what is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for your entry to be removed.

Removing an entry takes down the photos, the name, the bio and the link. The owner number and the fact that a payment happened stay, because the accounting record is not ours to erase.

Children

This site is not aimed at children and asks for nothing from them.
